Cool “laser Engraving” images

For 2006′s e3, Nintendo was geared up and readying itself for Wii’s release. Along with the Wii, the Nintendo DS Lite was about to launch as well, only a few months ahead.
While knowing there were Nintendo nerds residing in NYC, and that they have a glorious store, the Nintendo World Store, Nintendo decided to have an e3 party. The party, which consisted of two parts, had allowed select visitors a chance to view the press conference, live via satellite, as it happened 3 hours behind on the clock in California. The store was filled with fans, game demos, and even two dedicated, and not to mention sweaty, employees dressed in Mario and Zelda costumes.
After the first portion of the "party" ended, the store was closed for several hours, where employees decorated the store, and a DJ set up a booth, for an even more exclusive group of fans to attend the afterparty.
For those who were invited to the afterparty, we were told to bring our DS’ for a little gift. Unaware at what these gifts were, 55 faithful customers were given vouchers to have their DS laser engraved. I was lucky, and one of those 55 members to have their DS laser engraved, making this one of the most rare and limited DS versions out there.
While no one knows the exact count of each color, I vaguely remember being only one of the few with an electric blue.
I took this out of the box awhile ago (since I have a dslite, there was no reason for me to play with it) to photograph it for memories.

This is sub-surface laser engraving in progress at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom. You can see the laser on the left side of the block scanning a 3rd face into the block.
